Yapp edges. 76 pages illustrated by 33 photos and drawings. Dutch text. Included is a photograph of a much disputed locomotive, this being the Great Western Railway express No. 2002, on which the driving wheel diameter is given as 2690mm. This engine was built in 1853 and even at the turn of the century there was much learned disagreement as to the size of these wheels when the engine was first produced, it having been re-built quite soon afterwards. This item has the book-plate of L. Derens. Fine condition.

With 3 & 1/2p. ordinary G.P.O. postage stamp, cancelled "Bangor-Crewe T.P.O. 30 Jan 72". Also rubber stamped "Holyhead Parcels Office" and Britannia Bridge. Very fine condition.
245-1685. Great Central Railway. Official First Day Cover. By A.G. Bradbury, Leicester. 4.25" x 8.75". With a joined strip of five G.P.O. 12 pence each, commemorative stamps "Liverpool and Manchester Railway, 1830". The stamps are all different and make up a train of locomotive engine and various carriages and wagons. Posted on the first day of Issued, 12 March 1980, at Loughborough Central Station, with rubber stamping cancellations. Very nice. Very fine condition.
245-1686. Llanfair P.G., Anglesey. Re-opening Railway Station. Official Commemorative Cover with a representation of the British Transport Commission 3d. Platform Ticket and map of the railway. By Scotsman Cover Services, Preston. 4" x 7.25". With a regular G.P.O. Welsh issue 7 & 1/2p. stamp. Postmarked "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch". Believed to be the only time the full spelling has appeared on a postmark. Dated "7th May 1973". Rubber stamped "Carried aboard British Railways first train to use Llanfair Station 7 May 1973". Delightful in very fine condition.

Postmarked "Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland, 13 Aug 1975, first day of issue". Very nice. Very fine condition.
245-1688. R.H.D.R. and Dungeness Power Station. Official Pictorial Cover. Carried by train New Romney to Dungeness. (RHDR Cover No. 4). By Benham, Hythe. 4.25" x 8.5". With 13 pence, G.P.O. commemorative stamp "Electricity", cancelled by rubber stamp "Dungeness, Romney Marsh, Kent. 25 Jan 1978. 21 Year of British Nuclear Electricity". Also with Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, 10p. gummed pictorial letter stamp affixed and cancelled with two further rubber stampings. Interest in this is increased as "Dungeness "A" Power Station will be shut down this year and dismantling started. Very nice in very fine condition.
