A detailed account of the railway during the period 1838 to 1980. The author was a footplate man based at Bletchley. Ottley 11049. Very fine condition.
244-0872. Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad Company. Certificate for One Hundred Shares of the Common Stock. Issued in March 1948, impressed with the Company Seal and signed in ink by all required parties. 8" x 12", engraved in an ornate style in black and blue on white quality paper by the Security Banknote Company. With a decorative border and incorporating a vignette showing a steam locomotive on train with allegorical woman on each side. The Certificate has been "Cancelled" by holes through a signature. An excellent fifty-six year old piece that will delight in very fine condition.

This combines two books first published by Ian Allan Limited in 1987 and 1989 under the titles "Danger Signals" and "Danger on the Line". 11.75" x 8.75", pictorial boards in an as new condition wrapper. 256 pages illustrated by very many photos and some diagrams in text. The author was Divisional Operating Superintendent for the West Midlands of British Railways and chaired over 100 formal accident enquiries. Here are described some of the more outstanding accidents that have occurred on B. R. with the explanations of how they were caused. As new condition.
