Excellent history, this is rubber stamped "South Western Railway, Locomotive Department Drawing Office, Nine Elms Works, London". It is signed and dated June 1895. Very fine condition.

Printed Postcard, which includes a printed One Penny Postage Stamp and the address "The Chairman, London Midland & Scottish Railway Co., Headquarters, Watford, Herts." 3" x 5". The address is the wartime evacuation address of the Chairman, the thought being that Watford being in a rural area was safe from air attack. Card unused. Very fine condition.

This was the war time evacuation address of the company. What is perhaps most remarkable today is that Watford was thought of as a small country town.
