Original printing. 6.75" x 4.75", decorated cloth boards with title on spine and cover. 48 pages of adverts, many of them pictorial and including some of the major world passenger shipping lines + 8 + 404 pages with many photographic and drawn illustrations, also 12 maps and plans in text + 26 fold-out maps and plans. Giving a quite detailed history and description of the towns and places within the area of the railway and of their various interests for visitors. Scarce. Complete as called for. Slight foxing in places, mostly on page edges, but fine condition.

First Edition. 10" x 7.5", cloth boards in a very fine condition wrapper. 8 + 168 pages with over 200 photos in text. Photographing railway buildings and trains was severely restricted during the Second World War and anyone trying to do this could be suspected of spying, however the author was a schoolboy photographer and raised litle alarm. A pictorial account concentrating on the Manchester area, the Woodhead line, and the east and west coast main lines. Very fine condition.

Showing a detailed perspective view of the bridge and station from across the river, with a train and groups of people. Including the text essay for the piece. First class history. Without folds, and in very fine condition. We will send it rolled.

On a page extracted from The Illustrated London News, 26th August 1854. 25.75" x 10.5". Showing a detailed perspective view of the procession of numerous people passing through spectators amid the Abbey ruins. Together with "The Abbot's Kitchen, Glastonbury." 4" x 4.75". The text article is included. Good history. Without folds and in fine condition. It will be sent rolled.

German text. as used in the Central Train Control Office. All traffic is distinguished by type and train number; included is diagram of the railway with number of running lines and other features indicated and a gradient profile. These most informative sheets seldom come to hand, this came sometime from the collection of Brian Reed, the engineer author. Fine condition.

With dimensions, weights, and major specifications, company numbers, name of constructor and year. German text. These are excellent and most informative, and very hard to come by. All are in very fine condition.

Limited., Montreal. 28" x 54", blue print by the company, to a scale of 1 foot to 1 inch. Showing a fully detailed side and end elevation, cross section and plan views of the car body. It is of riveted steel construction for use on coal or ore traffic, carried on bogies for distance working. Including dimensions and constructional notes. A good piece. Folded in generally fine condition.

No. 545. H.M. Stationery Office, London. Original printings, complete with drawings as called for. 11" x 7.5", 6 pages + 4 fold-out sheets of drawings. In modern parlance this is known as a tachograph.

231-2835. Ditto but Charles Joseph Feder, City of Paterson, New Jersey, U.S.A. Book-keeper. Improvements in Railway Advertising Apparatus. 13th March 1899. No. 5445. 7 pages + fold-out drawings. Rotating advertisement signs for use inside the passenger compartment of street cars and interurban trains, which is changed to a different advert by the passage of the vehicle along the line. Interesting.
231-2836. Ditto but Thomas Morgan Eynon, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Mechanical Engineer. Improvements in Injectors. 27th September 1899. No. 19444. 4 pages + 1 fold-out sheet drawing. A double tube injector with moveable forcing steam nozzle and incorporating many novel features. Probably the first American design for a universal type that could be fitted to any locomotive. A good item.

Surveyed by T. Sopwith. Memb. Inst. Civil Engineers. July 1838. 11.75" x 17", on date watermarked cartridge paper, lithographed by Collard to a scale of 8 chains to one inch. Showing the line of railway of some 1 mile and 2 furlongs length, from the colliery near Hauxley to aside the River Coquet, with the adjacent features in detail. Excellent early history. Folded in very fine condition.

London. 1913 printing. 6" x 9.75", colour diagram on substantial paper with blank verso, for insertion into the Official Diagram Book. Showing the lines with the owning company indicated; stations, goods depots, and junction named with the distances between given. Some of these have a place name of distance amended in manuscript ink, this was dome by the R.C.H. prior to issue, and was quite usual. This and those following in very fine condition.
