In original printed envelope which is slightly freyed at edges. 9 cards as called for, 3.5" x 5.5" showing contemporary working scenes within the Hanomag factory with locomotive components being produced in the machine shops and foundry. These are well detailed pictures and important history. All cards are in mint condition.

First edition. 8.75" x 5.75", cloth boards in a very fine condition wrapper. 208 pages illustrated by numerous photos on plates and several sketch drawings in text. An autobiographical account of a life in steam locomotive engineering. Starting with an apprenticeship at Doncaster Works with the newly formed London and North Eastern Railway and continuing at various places as a fitter, mechanical chargeman, and running shed foreman to being shedmaster at Norwich depot. Very fine condition.

231-2577. Hatfield and St. Albans Railway. Bridge at 3 miles 70 chains, to carry the railway over a public roadway. Manuscript Drawing, for the construction of the railway. On draughtsmans linen 21" x 29", drawn in black and red ink in an attractive style with parts coloured in gouache, to a scale of 6 feet to one inch. Showing a detailed plan, elevation and section views with dimensions and constructional notes. With the railway on an earthwork embankment this is a brick and concrete structure with stone and blue brick capping and the rails carried on cast iron girders. Although not marked as such this was prepared by Francis Rummens, Westminster, the Agent for the Railway, circa 1863. A unique piece that will please. Rolled in very fine condition.

231-2594. Intercolonial Railway. (Canada). Traffic Department. Saint John Station, N(ew) B(runswick). Goods Waybill. Form No. 18. 7" x 8.5". Printed heading which includes an attractive small vignette showing a twin funnel paddle steamer about to berth and flying the Stars and Stripes at the bow; with a train of bogie vans headed by a 4-4-0 locomotive and eight wheeled tender standing on the dock side. Written for merchandise transported in 1888. Excellent history.

231-2595. Ditto but Intercolonial Railway. Traffic Department. St. John Station. From John Sealy of St. John, N.B. 7" x 8.5". A particularly nice vignette shows a 4-4-0 locomotive with bogie tender on a passenger train in open country, the engine appears to have some kind of steam driven auxiliary unit mounted on the right running plate in front of the cab. Most interesting. A nice bill, written for goods sent in 1888.

Bound in publishers green cloth boards. 9.75" x 7.5", gilt title on spine and cover. This being pages 1615 to 2532, covering May to December, 1905 + the many and numerous supplementary pages and plates: all illustrated by very many photos and drawings. Serious student of railway history will know this as the leading technical trade journal of the railway industry. Very fine condition.

Large Headed Letter, 10.75" x 8.25", which includes two vignettes showing a railway mineral wagon and a four-wheel road wagon. Written longhand in 1897 it includes the following ".... We shall be pleased to make you a new 10 ton Ry Wagon, with bottom doors and everything of the best material and workmanship, for the sum of fifty-seven pounds .... " Very nice.

By Freins Jourdain Monneret, Paris. 23" x 39". Company print in full size, showing detailed front and left side elevation external views. This is the vacuum brake ejector unit as used on steam locomotives, in this type the main control lever is on the left side of the device when facing the forward direction. Folded in generally very fine condition.
