231-2465. Glasgow and South Western Railway. Ardrossan Guaranteed Stock. Certificate for Four Hundred Pounds of the Glasgow & South-Western Railway (Ardrossan) Guaranteed Stock. 1850's. 7" x 10". Engraved in a decorative bank note style on quality paper, with a surrounding border which has a different heraldic device in each corner. Unissued and in near mint condition.

Sir, I am commanded by the King to convey to you hereby His Majesty's thanks for the Loyal and Dutiful Address of the Proprietors of the Great Central Railway expressing sympathy on the occasion of the lamented death of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria, and congratulation on His Majesty's Accession to the Throne. I am, Sir Your Obedient Servant. It is signed "Chas. T. Richie", who I believe was Home Secretary at the time. 12.25" x 9.5" with black edges. Superb history.

Map on inside back cover. This is quite hard to come by. It is frayed at the spine and at the edges of the back cover without loss of content.
