230-1947. "Henley Bridge" Jigsaw Puzzle. Published by The Great Western Railway Company (Paddington). Probably issued 1935. Manufactured by The Chad Valley Co. Ltd., Harborn, England. About 200 pieces of printed paper affixed to three-ply wood, interlocked to make a colour picture of 17.5" x 11" size, from an original painting by Fred Taylor. Showing a view across the river Thames at Henley with the bridge on the right and the "Angel" and parts of St Mary's Church in the centre. On the river are punts and a rowing boat with people on the river bank and bridge. It is in the original 4th Series cardboard book type box, with the lid folding over the base, all covered with the blue pattern printed paper. All the required labels are affixed and the coloured guide picture. The box is held closed by two tapes and half of seal label is still affixed. This puzzle was first issued in 1933 and withdrawn in 1935, this copy being one of the last batch. A very delightful find. The box is in generally fine condition, the puzzle is complete with all original pieces, it is clean and in generally fine condition.

Colour frontage plate from an original painting + 168 pages illustrated by 69 drawings from pen and ink sketches and 14 maps in text + (104) pages with photogravure pictures. Map of the county on inside covers. A detailed historical guide to the area of Cornwall. There is some freying to the bottom of the spine but it is otherwise only a lightly used copy.

A Bond for 126 Roubles in coin, (20 Pounds Sterling), paying an Interest of 4 per Cent per Annum, created by Agreement made in St. Petersburg, 1885. Issued, signed and sealed by all concerned. 11.25" x 16". Engraved in an ornate bank note style in black and light brown on cream watermarked paper. Full text in Russian, with on the verso a full translation in German and French. Seemingly this has not been cancelled. A scarce piece that is excellent history. Slight foxing and a little age discolouration but without damage.
