229-1362. "The Great Central Railway Station at Newcastle-upon-Tyne." Engraved Drawing. Picture size 6" x 9". Together with "Public Dinner to Robert Stephenson, at Newcastle-upon-Tyne." Picture size 5" x 9". Both on a page extracted from The Illustrated London News. 10th August 1850. 15.75" x 10.5". The first picture shows a detailed perspective view of the outside frontage of the newly built station, with several horse drawn carriages, coaches and carts, discharging luggage and people. The second picture shows the massively attended dinner for the celebrated civil engineer that took place inside the new station, on the wall are three large murals with pictures of his railway bridges. The text essay for the piece is included. Nice history. Without folds, in very fine condition. We will send it rolled.

These sheets showing the proposal with the exisiting track layout, buildings and adjacent features in full detail, from near mile post 101, by way of Highdike Signal Box, Great Ponton Station, and Saltersford Signal Box, to around 104 & 1/2 miles. Very nice. Rolled. Generally very fine condition.
