228-0726. Choctaw, Oklahoma and Gulf Railroad Company. Certificate, written for "20" Shares of 50 dollars each of the Common Stock. Issued in June 1899, signed by all parties concerned. 7" x 11.5", 2 sides. Engraved in an ornate style in green and black on white quality paper by the "Franklin-Lee Bank Note Co. New York." Incorporating a nice vignette showing a 4-4-0 locomotive running into a station on train with several people waiting on the platform; and another showing three black labourers man-handling a large bale of cloth. Cancelled by perforated punch and some neat clippings. Great American history. Generally very fine condition.

228-0732. "Commencement of the Quebec and Richmond Railway." Wood Engraved Drawing. Picture size 4.75" x 6.25", on an extracted page from The Illustrated London News. 21st February 1852. 15.75" x 10.5". Showing a largish group of people gathered beside the river to watch the ceremony of turning the first sod, with an array of bunting fixed in the trees above. Together with "Canoes crossing the river St. Lawrence." Picture size 4" x 6". As is explained in the article which is included, a violent snow-storm had been raging all night before the ceremony which had been thought to have prevented the official party crossing the river, the second picture shows the large canoes being man handled over ice flows in the course of crossing. Good history. This without folds is in very fine condition. We will send it rolled.

228-0771. Erie Railroad Company. Certificate for less than 100 Shares of Common Stock. Issued for Sixty-Five Shares in September 1946, printed with the Company Seal and signed by hand in ink by all required parties. 7.75" x 12", engraved in an ornate style in black and green on white quality paper by the American Bank Note Company. With a decorative border and a vignette showing the company insignia with an allegorical woman on one side and a man on the other. The Certificate has been "Cancelled" with a perforation punch and neat holes punched through two signatures. Very nice history. Suited for display. Very fine condition.
